Google challenges universities
In an effort to give students real-world experience in online advertising and marketing, Google has partnered with universities around the globe to participate in the Google Online Challenge, says DMNews.
More than 8 000 undergraduate and post-graduate students will participate in the worldwide, hands-on competition, which starts in February.
Each participating student team will receive free online advertising vouchers for Google AdWords worth $200, work with an SME to set up an account, outline a strategy, run a campaign, and assess its results.
Majestic gets Ruf
Majestic America Line Cruises has retained Ruf Strategic Solutions to establish its brand through a targeted e-marketing campaign, according to PRWeb.
Majestic utilised Ruf Strategic Solutions' customer relationship marketing tool, Navigator, and database intelligence.
The objective was to generate leads, reach customers, facilitate inquiries and communicate with travel agents.
E.emotion, Rocket Science merge
Rocket Science has merged with marketing agency e.emotion as part of a deal to form a new direct marketing agency, says Precision Marketing.
E.emotion will be re-branded Rocket Science, with its founder and MD Andrew Campbell taking the helm as MD of the new agency. Rocket Science chief executive Alan Timothy will become chairman of the new agency.
The agency will offer an extensive range of business-to-consumer and business-to-business direct marketing and data disciplines from direct mail, telemarketing, mobile and e-marketing, through to data buying, analysis, CRM consultancy and print. It will also offer creative, planning and strategic expertise.
