Tellumat will begin distributing Inter-Tel`s communication solutions for contact centres with immediate effect.
According to Tellumat MD Rasheed Hargey, the Inter-Tel solution has the application of Internet Protocol (IP) and voice over IP (VOIP) as core processes, which will allow for cost saving opportunities for contact centres.
"The minister of communications` recent announcement on the impending liberalisation of the telecommunications market and legalisation of VOIP will likely create a number of business opportunities that will allow us to fully realise the value of this strategic alliance," he says.
"Inter-Tel`s Axxess platform increases productivity and efficiency. An example of this is when a call centre agent finishes making a call, the system, using power diallers, automatically dials the next number on the database, saving the operator from having to manually search for it."
Hargey says the government is encouraging multinationals to locate their call centres in SA, and because the nation offers numerous advantages, such as rand-based employment costs and a time zone overlap, many European organisations are seeing the business sense behind this.
"The rapid explosion of call centres in SA has led to an increased demand for solutions that provide a platform for efficient business communication. A requirement that I believe the Axxess platform addresses," says Chris Harris, MD of Inter-Tel Europe.
He says the Axxess platform is an open architecture, software-based system designed to meet the telecommunications needs of businesses of all sizes, and can be configured for users who require less than 32 extensions right through to those who require upwards of 30 000 extensions.
