McAfee forms new business unit

McAfee has formed a new business unit focused on IT governance, risk and compliance, says CNN Money.

The security technology company said the new unit will focus on driving innovation and extending McAfee's security risk management business.

The unit will be led by George Kurtz, senior VP and GM at McAfee.

GRC joins eIQnetworks

eIQnetworks has expanded its management team, naming security and compliance industry veteran John Linkous to the newly created position of IT governance, risk and compliance (GRC) evangelist, reports Sarbanes-Oxley.

Reporting directly to CEO Vijay Basani, Linkous will work closely with eIQ's Global 2000 enterprise customers as well as industry standards bodies to implement security best practices and guide the company's IT GRC solution strategy.

Linkous has over 15 years of technology management and consulting experience, specialising in enterprise systems management, information security and regulatory compliance.

3i develops e-governance sites

Software company, 3i Infotech has been awarded Capability Approval Certificate by the India Standardisation, Testing and Quality Certification Directorate, Department of Information Technology, states Economic Times.

This certification is the first of its kind among IT companies doing work in e-governance in the country, the company said in a release.

The certification has been awarded to 3i Infotech for their capability to develop Web sites as per the guidelines in the e-governance scheme formulated by the government.
