Government procurement maintains its cautious pace this week as the public sector present themselves to Parliament for their respective budget vote debates. As a result, the market receives yet another slim edition of the National Tender Bulletin.
Overall, the ICT sector fares relatively well in the latest issue; however, new opportunities are largely skewed toward software requests. These tenders feature several specifications for development and customisation, as well as a single request for an open source solution. Requests for services follows; however, this is predominantly for support and maintenance contracts. Hardware continues to trail behind in government's priorities, attracting only three notices.
This week's bulletin closes with five cancellations and four awards. Of the cancellations, it is the axing of an integrated IT solution for gambling and liquor regulation from the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator that is most notable. Similarly, there is little of note to find in the awards section although the State IT Agency continues to withhold the value of its awarded tenders.
