National Treasury has appointed 37 service providers to the Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) panel in its second batch of nominations. The centre was established to support public finance management through professional advisory services, programme and project management and transaction support. This focus often includes the use and efficiency of technology across government.
The country's finance department advertised for the fourth batch of professional service providers for the GTAC panel in last week's National Tender Bulletin. The latest issue, however, reveals that an error was made in the allocated tender number in that notice. The quoted tender number actually refers to another outstanding advertisement for a team of specialists to conduct functionality audits on municipal financial systems. Treasury has issued two corrections clarifying the tender number for the GTAC panel and noting that the deadline for the municipal audits closes today.
This week's edition offers a slew of opportunities for the ICT industry with the software, hardware and services sectors all receiving requests in the double digits.
The State IT Agency (SITA) is particularly active posting a total of nine new tenders advertised under its own name as well as that of its clients. The agency has, however, cancelled tenders for the Government Pensions Administration Agency and the South African Military Health Service.
SITA closes the issue with the award of a R1.8 million security information and event management solution contract for the Presidency and a R10 million tender for the provision of a countrywide physical audit and verification of WAN, LAN and environmental equipment for the South African Police Service.
