Digify Africa is looking for SA’s next great digital marketers who will participate in its three-month Digify Pro digital skills programme.

Digify Africa is an initiative by youth agency Livity Africa, which has facilitated various face-to-face youth training sessions for imparting digital skills from large tech companies.

The organisation has a partnership with Facebook, focused on offering digital skills and Internet safety training sessions.

Digify Pro is an intensive digital skills boot camp that prepares young talent for a future career in digital marketing.

According to Digify Africa, the programme has been successful in providing an immersive learning experience that offers demand-driven skills while preparing participants for the world of work.

Participants gain exposure to the industry by working on live briefs set by notable brands, learning skills such as search engine optimisation tools, e-mail marketing, social media marketing, analytics, and digital strategies and mobile marketing.

Throughout the programme, participants are mentored by industry professionals from reputable advertising agencies from around the country.

COVID-19 has shown the world the need for innovation; careers that can operate remotely, especially those in digital, have emerged as the most adaptable within times of crisis, notes Digify Africa.

After successfully launching its first pan-African online cohort in July with participants from across South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya, Digify Africa is now recruiting for the second phase of Digify Pro.

‘’Following the COVID-19 pandemic, we have migrated this training online, which has allowed us to open up this opportunity to more young people across SA. We are particularly proud of how we have been able to adapt during this time and continue in our mission of delivering quality skills and developing digital talent in Africa,” says Qhakaza Mthembu, COO of Digify Africa.

The Digify Pro programme says it has kick-started over 250 careers in SA, Nigeria and Kenya over the past six years.

Digify Africa says it not only provides training but ensures graduates are able to get their foot in the door by placing them in agencies or organisations as either interns or junior staff for a minimum of three months.

Applications are open to all young people between the ages of 18-30 years who would like to get a head-start in a career in digital.

Aspiring digital marketers can apply here. South African applications will close on 24 September and training takes place from 5 October to 11 December.
