David Motlafi, Head of department ERP, SAA Information Technology Services

David Motlafi holds a BSc degree in applied computer science from Fort Hare University. In addition, he has completed an MBA programme at the University of the Free State and has also supplemented his education with a number of certificates, such as the Production and Inventory Control, Bookkeeping, SAP R/3 Materials Management and a Leadership and Strategic Management for CIO certificate from Harvard University's John F Kennedy School of Government. His career spans 28 years. He initially gained prominence as a prolific programmer, rising through the ranks to become the Transvaal Computer Systems manager within the Unilever Group. Motlafi has implemented SAP R/3 for blue-chip companies such as Shell-Gabon, Transvaal Suiker Beperk, BHPBilliton, etc. Motlafi was the convenor of two successful Gauteng government ICT Summits. Motlafi has presented papers on mobility at the Africa SAP User Group forums and at Govtech.
