Lars van Tonder is chief operating officer of the IMM Graduate School, overseeing all operational aspects of the institution.
He holds a teaching qualification from the University of Pretoria, a Bachelor of Education (Educational Management) and a Master of Education (Educational Psychology) from the University of Johannesburg (formerly RAU).
He joined the IMM Graduate School in 2007, following a rewarding career both in public and private education, including a 16-year career in the public education sector, progressing from teaching at a monastic school, to becoming a high school deputy principal.
Van Tonder spent his first seven years in the private education sector with the CTI Education Group, in several senior positions, including campus principal, executive committee member responsible for sales, and marketing and academic manager.
He later gained industry experience in the automotive sector as a service manager at the AMH Auto Group, before joining the ADvTECH group in 2004, as the campus principal of College Campus in Parktown, Johannesburg.
He later consulted for major organisations, such as Armscor, Nedbank, Sunday Times and SAB, as part of the online learning division of Reusable Objects, a subsidiary of the Riverbend Learning Group.
Van Tonder is committed to simplifying complex systems, driving innovation and enhancing operational efficiency, not only at the IMM Graduate School, but also within the broader private education sector.
