Ralph Smit

Executive of governance and compliance at Bytes Connect.

Ralph Smit is a 19-year IT veteran, having spent 17 in management positions at Edgars, Accenture, Oracle, and Bytes Technology Group. His position at Bytes encompasses audits, management frameworks, risk management, safety and health and contract hygiene, among others. He has managed a broad spectrum of outsource projects, including ICT, call centres, development for local and international clients and offshore accounts. He is certified for ITIL, Six Sigma, project management and he is one of a handful of certified COPC-registered co-ordinators in Africa. He completed several other management and technical courses through some of the best known institutions in the industry, including management at Wilson Learning, IT service management at Foster Melliar, management at The Pacific Institute, service management at Accenture London, management at Edgars, project management at Xpert, project management at Radical Training, and development training at Oracle Spain. He became a COPC-registered co-ordinator through COPC Spain, Six-Sigma through COPC/ICMI in Boston and Jacksonville in the US, and attended a King III seminar, by Mervyn King, at Foster Melliar. Smit completed a BCom degree through University of Johannesburg.
