Phoenix Software announces availability of TuneUp Utilities 2009

Johannesburg, 14 Jul 2009

TuneUp has enhanced its comprehensive optimisation suite for Windows PCs with TuneUp Utilities 2009, which is now available in South Africa from software distributor, Phoenix Software.

With this new offer, TuneUp supports all PC users that want to share their tuning software with family members or have several computers they want to optimise, such as a desktop, laptop and workstation.

TuneUp Utilities 2009 is an ideal solution for all Windows computers. It encompasses every relevant aspect of PC optimisation, from speeding up access to the hard drive and cleaning the system of no longer needed data and registry entries, to correcting faulty system settings.

The software suite provides both inexperienced and professional Windows users with a comprehensive suite of intelligent tuning tools. It individually analyses the configuration of the PC and determines the best optimisation measures based on the requirements that the user specifies.

With this flexible support for PC users with different needs, TuneUp Utilities is ideal for sharing in a family with multiple PCs - the parents' PC that is mainly used for private correspondence, Internet shopping, home banking, or business, the children's PC which is full of games, music and multimedia files and is also used for social networking and surfing and maybe even one more PC for the older generation.

“Silver Surfers” and inexperienced users particularly benefit from the easy-to-understand categories and intuitive interface that makes the software especially suitable for computer novices who are unfamiliar with technical jargon or the lesser-known Windows settings. Teenagers will love TuneUp Styler as it enables them to give their system a sharp, individual look by changing the design of symbols, the visual style, the boot and logon screen and even the animated Vista start-up logo.

When installed, the software analyses the computer and indicates problem areas and potential areas for improvement. According to the results of this analysis and the configuration parameters selected by the user, TuneUp Utilities recommends measures that enable the user to carry out the best possible optimisation for his PC or notebook. The program offers only optimisation measures that are sensible and safe for the system, explains every action and does not covertly make changes to the system individually, so that the user has full control over all interventions into the system.

Price and availability:

TuneUp Utilities 2009 will be available in South Africa from leading retailers in July for a RRP of R299.99.

TuneUP

TuneUp, based in Darmstadt, makes it possible for Windows users to fine-tune their PCs for optimum performance. PCs that are maintained using TuneUp Utilities are less cluttered and are proven to work faster and be more stable.

The success story began 11 years ago when TuneUp founders Tibor Schiemann and Christoph Laumann developed the first complete package for the optimisation of Windows PCs. The program was called “TuneUp 97 - the intelligent tuning tool”. Back then, the TuneUp founders considered “intelligent tuning” to be the effective optimisation of PCs that takes care of as many of the necessary steps as possible for the user.

Since 2003, TuneUp has been expanding internationally: TuneUp Utilities is currently used by 10 million people worldwide and is now available in English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Polish. End-users can find TuneUp Utilities directly on the company's home page (www.tuneup-software.co.uk) Wholesalers and retailers in the UK can commission the professional services of PX Software, which exclusively represents TuneUP in the UK market.
