Products Available on 3,300 Campuses in U.S. and Canada -Company Increases Sales of Internet and Intranet Products to Education Market Aggressive sales and marketing campaigns, alliances with top education market distributors, and a product line well suited for the education market have enabled IMSI's educational sales to soar to more than one million dollars in 1998, the company announced today.
The software developer and creator of the fastest growing visual content and graphics portal on the Internet attributes its recent success in the education market to its strong value proposition for students and faculty.
"College students and faculty have discovered that IMSI provides the best value for their software dollar," says Kathleen Mountanos, director of educational sales for IMSI. "We offer very palatable price points for quality products that are in demand. This has proven to be a successful combination."
IMSI entered the education market in 1996, establishing relationships with college and university bookstores and key distributors. The company was recently designated as the primary provider of visual content software by the leading chain of college bookstores, Follett's, and by the largest distributor to the higher education market, the National Association of College Stores Corporation.
"IMSI broke into the education market by targeting college bookstores," Mountanos says. "We quickly established ourselves as the leading provider of visual content to the college bookstore market. We then expanded our sales and marketing plans to include the K-12 market, as well as administration and labs within higher education. We are leading this charge with our Internet and intranet-based products, ArtToday.com and MasterClips Image Server."
ArtToday.com, one of four IMSI visual content web sites, is one of the largest subscription-based online providers of visual content on the Internet, offering more than 750,000 images to more than 65,000 subscribers world-wide. Education subscribers pay up to $29.95 a year for unlimited access to royalty free visual content. Discounted rates are available for district-wide and campus-wide usage.
IMSI's recently released MasterClips Image Server is a district-wide, network solution ideal for K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. This product makes thousands of premium images available to multiple users via their institution's internal network server. The Novato Unified School District in California, for example, is utilizing MasterClips Image Server on its WAN, allowing 7,000 K-12 students and faculty access to images via their web browsers. IMSI products now selling in bookstores in the U.S. and Canada include selections from the award-winning MasterClips Premium Image Collection one of the largest and most diverse visual content collections in the world and the company's flagship line of TurboCAD computer-aided design products. In addition, stores are featuring NetAccelerator, WinDelete, VoiceDirect, Multimedia Fusion, Hijaak Express, and Easy Language.
