Sahara has announced the availability of the third generation of Creative's Sound Blaster Audigy family of sound cards.
"The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS elevates PC audio quality with eight-channel 108dB SNR clarity, built-in DTS Extended Surround decoding and 7.1 surround sound for music, gaming and movies," says Atul Gupta, MD of Sahara.
Like its predecessor, the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS features Advanced Resolution 24-bit DVD-Audio playback, THX certification, 24-bit/96kHz recording and FireWire connectivity.
The Audigy 2 ZS will be available as two product offerings - the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro.

Complementing THX Multimedia Certification, Creative's THX Setup Console provides accurate audio calibration for a precise speaker listening environment.
The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS comes EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD ready, adding ultra-realistic multi-environment effects that deliver life-like sound as multiple environment acoustics are simultaneously processed in real-time.
"Providing a complete cinematic experience, the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS has built-in DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX decoding to deliver captivating audio playback in 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround with DVD movies.
"Creative MediaSource has been enhanced to allow users to further enjoy their digital audio content. A new Karaoke feature suppresses vocals on MP3, WMA and CD music allowing users to sing along to favourite songs. Smart Playlist allows the creation of custom playlists based on a multitude of options such as tempo, artist, last play date and custom rating," says Gupta.

Perfect for the extreme gamer and MP3 music enthusiast, the card-only Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS comes with complete gaming and music enhancement software. This includes the full EAX 3.0 ADVANCED HD version of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield plus Creative MediaSource 2 digital media player, and EAX Music Console with acoustic enhancements.
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Ideal for the aspiring musician, the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro features 24-bit/96kHz multi-channel recording capabilities and ASIO 2.0 support for low latency recording.
The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro version includes the studio quality Audigy ZS external I/O hub with three analogue stereo connections, plus optical and coaxial digital I/O, full-sized MIDI I/O, two FireWire ports and a headphone output with its own volume control.
The Audigy 2 Platinum Pro includes the high-end music creation applications Steinberg Cubasis VST 4.0 Creative Edition + Wavelab Lite 2.0 and Image Line FL Studio 4 Creative Edition.
"Using this full-featured recording platform, musicians can connect multiple guitars, microphones and a MIDI keyboard to record their music to digital devices via optical or coaxial connections - or even connect to external AV amps or decoders," concludes Gupta.
