In a bid to standardise on their Microsoft infrastructure across various parts of their enterprise, AngloGold have invested in USKO`s web-enabled licensing system and order entry tool, Electronic Licence Manager (ELM).
USKO now assists AngloGold in managing and purchasing Microsoft software, ensuring that they comply with all legal guidelines, leaving them free to focus on their core business activities.
Given that pirated software in South Africa is estimated at more than 50% of total software in use, there`s a real danger organisations face in term of mismanaging their licensing. It is also difficult to roll out an upgrade of all software if any of it is not legal.
Johann Komarek, Microsoft Business Solutions Manager at USKO feels that their holistic approach and thorough methodology ensured that they were chosen as AngloGold`s Microsoft`s licensing partner. "Prior to being awarded the tender we spent nearly 4 months within AngloGold forming a solution around their present and future requirements. AngloGold currently has a geographically dispersed user base of almost 4000, which in the past has been a daunting task to manage."
USKO have implemented a web based solution, allowing AngloGold to view the status of all it`s licensing at the touch of a button, as well as ordering and access to pricing and products. The system is Extranet based providing USKO with the ability to electronically manage and monitor AngloGold`s licensing on an ongoing basis.
