Esquire Technologies, a leading distributor of computer hardware and peripherals, has announced its appointment as distributor of BenQ digital lifestyle products in South Africa.
Esquire will primarily distribute BenQ's range of Joybook mobile PCs, as well consumer products, peripherals and optical media, including the BenQ keyboard and mouse range and Joybee MP3 players.
Manoj Tripathi, BenQ's local country manager, says: "With BenQ's goal of achieving approximately 20% of the local market by the end of 2005, the recently signed distribution agreement with Esquire will enable us to penetrate the small and mid-sized business (SMB) market, in which Esquire has a solid foothold in this region.
"Esquire's national coverage, with branches in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town and broad dealer reach are also key to this growth strategy," he continues. "Our partnership with Esquire brings mutual benefits, as the distributor was looking for a quality notebook to complete its product range offering."
Asgar Mahomed, managing director of Esquire, comments: "BenQ's range of digital lifestyle devices will complement our existing range of products and bring additional value to our channel customer base in southern Africa. We also see a substantial growth area in lifestyle-orientated multimedia products."
