Logicalis, a subsidiary of JSE-listed ICT group Datatec, has acquired a 65% interest in iZeno, a specialist in digital transformation solutions based in Singapore.
Announcing the deal on Thursday through the JSE news service, Datatec says iZeno employs 85 people who have delivered, implemented and optimised enterprise solutions to more than 300 clients across finance, manufacturing, banking, gaming, healthcare, telecom and retail industries.
The company is headquartered in Singapore with additional operations in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Commenting on the deal, Jens Montanana, Datatec's CEO, says: "The skills and innovation that iZeno brings to the group strengthen Logicalis’ core value proposition and ability to help our customers unlock value through digital transformation."
iZeno has experience in DevOps, application modernisation, customer experience and hybrid cloud strongly enhances the scope of services offered by Logicalis, and Datatec says this will accelerate the group’s vision to be the preferred digital transformation enabler for its customers in Asia.
Logicalis is Datatec’s the largest contributor in terms of profitability and has the widest geographical exposure and the technology group recently revealed it intends to continue to develop and grow Logicalis globally, both organically and through acquisitions.
The company has already been on a shopping around. In September last year, Logicalis purchased a 70% interest in Cilnet, a Cisco systems integrator and managed services business in Portugal.
In addition, Logicalis Germany acquired Orange Networks, a Microsoft services business focused on Microsoft cloud and managed services.
In July 2019, it acquired Mars Technologies, an IT services business, with offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Durban and East London, employing 76 staff.
Financially, Logicalis remains on good footing despite recent setback in the half-year results ending August
In the reporting period, Logicalis’s fell 10% to R11.4 billion ($700.2m), largely due to unfavourable currency effects in Latin America. Keeping out the currency effects, revenue for Logicalis was 1.9% lower.
