Zynga partners Epay for European expansion
Epay, a division of Euronet Worldwide, and a global distributor of electronic payment solutions, has signed a partnership with social games developer Zynga, reports Market Watch.
Epay will enable consumers to purchase Zynga Game Cards through Epay's cash load network. The service will be offered in 18 countries across Europe, making it the first time Zynga Game Cards will be available in many of these markets.
Kansas City Business Journal says players of Zynga games such as CityVille, FarmVille, Empires & Allies and Zynga Poker will be sent to one of Epay's retail and kiosk locations to buy a Zynga Game Card for virtual goods. Games can be played on social platforms such as Facebook.
Ryan Linton, senior director of business development for Zynga, says: “Epay will provide us with a way to leverage their strong network of premium retailers, as well as their robust payment processing infrastructure to enable more of our international players to purchase Zynga Game Cards in a convenient way.”
Last month, Zynga also struck a deal with Gate2Play to distribute game cards in the Middle East and North Africa, and Zynga is using Mentez to distribute cards in Latin America, reveals Games Beat.
International Business Times reveals that Kevin Caponecchi, president of Euronet Worldwide, says: “Epay is equally excited to be the first to bring this new product to key markets throughout Europe, and we are optimistic this product will drive incremental footfall and revenues for our retail partners.”
