Zensar, a leading digital solutions and technology services company that specialises in partnering with global organisations across industries on their digital transformation journey, announced it has partnered with Education Africa to sponsor 10 students from the region.
This initiative is in line with the Socio-Economic Development Program (SED) wherein Zensar's South Africa team works on initiatives/programmes that are focused on transforming lives of local youth through education, training and mentorship.
Commenting on this occasion, Sandeep Kishore, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Zensar,said: "The youth are our biggest strength and I am delighted that we are able to bring the power of a solid education to them in South Africa. These bright minds can transform the future not only of the economy, but also a nation with the right guidance and training."
James Urdang, CEO and Founder of Education Africa, said: "We are able to create a healthy ecosystem of education leading growth by providing poverty alleviation through education, in a country like South Africa, which has a rich history of progress and determination. It is due to the contribution of companies like Zensar that we are able to extend our scope and reach. By being at the coal face of the fourth industrial revolution, whereby Education Africa, with UNISA, is taking tertiary education programmes to students in townships and rural areas through the use of technology. Through financial support by other companies, we invite you to partner and make tertiary education available to a broader audience."

This programme will help these deserving students leverage more control over their lives and embark on successful careers."
Under the programme, Zensar will be contributing towards delivering education using ICT as a platform. The two educational programmes offered by Education Africa, in partnership with UNISA Centre for Business Management, are: Programme in Business Focused Management; and Programme in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development. The students selected under the programme hail from previously disadvantaged backgrounds around Gauteng and Mpumalanga province.
The total number of students covered under this programme and association with Education Africa is 30; wherein Zensar has contributed with scholarship and/or ICT infrastructure to help students learn and deliver the courses they are currently undertaking. The key objective of this initiative is to contribute positively, support and mentor these students to take the leap forward in their lives.
Zensar will continue to mentor the students and work with them on assignments. The second part of the programme involves engagement as below:
* Students will submit all assignments electronically, and it will be graded electronically;
* Students will receive progress reports and they can participate in an examination preparation tool, which will be electronically available; and
* Venue-based examinations will take place as well.
