Xerox is showcasing three of its latest printers at Comdex Chicago 2001 - the Xerox Phaser 2135 colour printer, the DocuColor 2006 printer/copier and the DocuPrint N4525 network printer.
"We have closed the gap between black-and-white and colour printing speed with the Phaser 2135," says Xerox Office Printing Business president, Gerry Perkel.
It prints 21 pages per minute (ppm) in colour and 26ppm in black-and-white. Its transfer of a full-colour image to paper in a single pass facilitates the Phaser 2135`s fast colour printing speed. Most office laser printers require four passes - one for each colour - to produce a colour document.
The second printer on show is the DocuColor 2006 printer/copier with which Xerox aims to charm the graphic arts environment. It produces documents at 6ppm in colour and 26ppm in black-and-white.
Xerox says the DocuPrint N4525 network printer is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, black-and-white printer in the market today. It prints 45ppm in black-and-white and provides finishing touches such as stapling, sorting and hole punching.
