Samantha Perry and Lynette Hundermark are co-founders of the Women in Tech and Digital Conference.

Hot on the heels of the Cape Town edition of the first Women in Tech and Digital Conference, the organisers have announced the speaker line-up of the Johannesburg leg of the event.

Taking place at OUTsurance Auditorium in Centurion, the conference will be held on 10 July.

Co-founded by Useful & Beautiful and Women in Tech ZA (WiTZA), the conference is targeted at men and women already active in the technology and digital spaces and looking to master the skills they have.

Explaining the motivation behind the event, Lynette Hundermark, Useful & Beautiful co-founder and CPO, previously said the idea is to provide a platform to some amazing women doing great things in the tech and digital space.

Over the years, Hundermark says she noticed conferences tend to have a majority male audience and male speaker line-up. Therefore, just like the Cape Town event, the Johannesburg leg will feature an all-female speaker line-up.

The speaker line-up consists of:

  • Kholeka Tsotsotso, CIO at the Development Bank of Southern Africa. As one of the few female CIOs in SA, Tsotsotso will be sharing her personal journey on how she got to be top of her field.
  • Barbara Mallinson, founder and CEO of Obami, will recount her experiences of starting and growing Obami, and show how the journey has educated her in ways that she never quite expected.
  • Hundermark will explore integration of the tech and digital silos to create purposeful solutions.
  • Anna Collard, founder and MD of Popcorn Training, a KnowBe4 company. Collard will unpack the topic of female entrepreneurship in cyber security.
  • Thandi Dyani, CEO of Impact Hub Johannesburg, will discuss leading social entrepreneurship.
  • Ingrid Lotze, co-founder of Hers&His, will delve into how to deal with stereotypes in the workplace.
  • Rapelang Rabana, founder and chair of Rekindle Learning. Rabana will unpack her experience as a technology entrepreneur and the principles that have empowered her journey.
  • Darlene Menzies CEO of Finfind, will deliver a keynote about the importance of taking risks and not being afraid of failure.
  • WiTZA co-founder Samantha Perry will moderate a panel discussion that includes Pelonomi Moila, data scientist at Nedbank; Bianca Minaar, CEO of Bonsai Solutions; and Naomi Snyman, emerging technology and innovation lead at Standard Bank.
  • Gillian Ezra, senior VP for digital and mobile services at TRACE, will talk about the rise of podcasts.
  • Samantha Wright, founder of Tech Girl, will talk about how to use digital media to grow your career, making the jump to international work and the pitfalls of social media.
  • Jacqui Mackway-Wilson, founder of GoSocial SA. Mackway-Wilson will discuss advanced digital marketing.
  • Ashnie Muthusamy, group talent management at Sun International, will explore how women should nurture themselves holistically in all life dimensions.
