Wipro unveils HDM solution
Wipro Technologies, a global IT services business, has unveiled its hosted document management solution, an enterprise document management offering based on the software-as-a-service model, says The Economic Times.
The solution was developed as part of the strategic alliance between Wipro and EMC.
Leveraging off the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management 6.5, it helps enterprises address the need for robust and scalable enterprise content management (CM) solutions and to manage the increasing demand for transactional content and business process efficiencies.
Mapping out cost effective IM
In his keynote address at EMC World 2009, Mark Lewis, president of EMC's content management and archiving division, declared that cost-effective information management will rest on having a set of technologies that can maximise information's value while minimising the cost and time to deploy applications, writes PRNewswire.
He cites rapid application composition, business process automation, integrated archiving and cloud computing as key enablers for lowering costs and increasing return on investments.
According to the EMC release, IT organisations are under continuous pressure to provide rich, content-enabled business applications that streamline various mission-critical case-based business processes.
JP Morgan implements FundWorks solution
Following a market review, FundWorks was selected to replace JP Morgan's current Web CM solution and provide the hosting and publishing mechanisms behind more than 30 Web sites and microsites for its UK asset management business, states Finextra.com.
Key drivers for the project included cost savings; the reuse of content across departments; integration with a variety of data feeds to power a dynamic 'fund explorer' application; full document library capabilities and the controlled publishing of content through approval and compliance workflows.
Campbell Fleming, head of JP Morgan asset management UK said: "A significant benefit of FundWorks is their technology solutions that cater for the specific parameters of the asset management community."
