DefenceWeb proved to be a popular brand at the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition, and not just because of its exceptional editorial coverage and record traffic - people were queuing up to stand a chance to win one of three new iPads, sponsored by steel plate specialist VR Laser.
After several hundred people entered the draw, three winners were selected at random. The three lucky gentlemen were Warrant Officer 2 James Wase from the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, Duan Jansen from Emanguluko Nilenga Investments Namibia, and Gert Ras from Denel Aviation.
One can be sure that these defence professionals quickly downloaded defenceWeb's just-launched app for iPad. The app, sponsored by industry giant Paramount Group, is also available on Android and iPhone platforms.
AAD 2012 was a record year for defenceWeb, which celebrated its fourth birthday on 17 September. The Web site attracted 41 000 unique browsers between 17 and 24 September and 194 000 page impressions over the same period, cementing defenceWeb's place as the leading online source of defence and security news for the African continent and as one of AAD's most effective media partners.
