White River Printers buys Xerox J75 digital press to boost business growth

White River Printers, based in Nelspruit and one of the largest printing shops in the Lowveld, has bought a Xerox Colour J75 digital press from Lowveld Office Automation, a Xerox business partner to Bytes Document Solutions, the authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan countries. The sale was concluded at the Africa Print Expo held in Nelspruit earlier this year.

White River Printers is a long-standing Xerox customer, offering digital and litho printing services as well as UV varnishing, die-cutting, foiling, embossing and laminating.

"The Xerox Colour J75 digital press will make it easier than ever for White River Printers to deliver for customers and grow its business," says Piet Potgieter, co-owner of Lowveld Office Automation. "It automates great colour, runs heavyweight stocks at full rated speed, produces a wide range of high-value applications, and integrates with your offset business to complement your existing workflow. The press offers superb image quality and finishing capabilities, and also reduces production costs."

Lyle Robinson, owner of White River Printers, says that when he and his team were researching which digital printers to buy and making comparisons with other products, he was impressed by the positive reviews of Xerox products. "We bought this machine to take our business to the next level. The Xerox Colour J75 is powered by EFI's Fiery FS100 Pro, which means a business like ours can produce high-margin print applications such as photo books, packaging and personalised communications with the high-quality colour, automated workflows, and productivity-boosting tools in the Fiery FS100 Pro system. EFI's colour management is one of the major reasons we purchased the machine because customers are very fussy about colour quality. The speed of the machine also helps us to keep up with market and customer demands," says Robinson.

The Xerox Colour J75 Press makes it easy to expand a commercial digital printing business. It can run up to 76 images per minute (A4) on uncoated stocks and up to 300gsm coated. It also features inline stapling, punching and saddle stitching finishing, opening up new opportunities to produce more profitable jobs. The press's advanced scanning and copying features provide workflow efficiencies, a plus for businesses entering the digital marketplace.

It can easily match corporate and industry colours with Xerox's Automated Colour Quality Suite (ACQS). With ACQS's inline spectrophotometer and colour management tools, accurate, reliable colour can be achieved with minimal operator involvement.

"This advanced technology ensures that the J75 maintains consistent image quality automatically, regardless of the length of the print runs," says Potgieter. "It delivers on all counts for businesses looking to grow their revenue opportunities."
