Financial institutions are increasingly turning to cloud technologies to help them meet their IT needs and to compete in a rapidly evolving industry. They recognise the benefits that cloud computing offers in terms of IT performance, innovation, cyber security, and cost savings.
Microsoft has introduced a white paper, called 'Regulating the Use of Cloud Computing by Financial Institutions', which provides guidelines for the development of a clear, principles-based regulatory regime, for financial institutions who are outsourcing to cloud service providers.
The goal of the white paper is to help financial institutions expand their use of cloud computing technologies in a safe and sound manner, and to foster innovation and competition in the country.
