Westcon has appointed Jean-Pierre Lourens as channel manager for its Symantec portfolio, in a move the company says will boost business for its partner network.
Lourens will work in the company's Comztek Solutions division, which has partnerships with numerous technology vendors in software, networking offerings, consumables, mobility devices, accessories and gaming.
According to a Westcon statement, Lourens' IT experience includes technical, strategic and project management work, as well as expertise in Symantec solutions.
David Caygill, business unit director at Comztek Solutions, says Lourens' skill set is expected to grow business for Westcon's partner network.
"His knowledge, understanding and technical, as well as business, know-how of the Symantec portfolio is an asset to our business," he adds.
Lourens is the second new channel manager appointed in as many months, following Shevaun Bradbury, who joined last month to lead the company's Citrix portfolio.
