WebMessenger releases IM service
WebMessenger has opened up free downloads of its market-proven WebMessenger Mobile IM clients, as well as free business-class IM service for mobile professionals who use BlackBerry, MS Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Palm PDAs and smartphones, reports BusinessWire.
The free IM service provides single client access to AIM, Google, MSN, Skype and Yahoo.
The move to free client downloads and mobile services addresses the growing demand from business professionals to take advantage of productivity gains obtained through presence-enabled real-time communications.
Verizon sues Charter
Verizon Communications has sued another service provider for patent infringement related to the intellectual property behind the transmission of VOIP calls, reports LightReading.
The suit was filed against Charter Communications in a federal court in Texarkana, Texas.
Verizon has already successfully sued Vonage Holdings for patent infringement and recently filed suit against Cox Communications.
Alvarion joins HP programme
