UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, announced today that Wageningen University and Research Centre (Wageningen UR) has selectedUNIT4's Agresso enterprise resource planning (ERP) softwareto handle complex international financial and project administration requirements.
Each ofWageningen UR'sresearch projects has a different financing structure, funding scheme and method of justification. These methods can vary strongly and are subject to constant change, leading to a highly complex administrative process.
UNIT4 Agresso, which is a fully integrated ERP solution, is designed to help dynamic organisations like Wageningen UR reduce this complexity by automating and streamlining financial and business data and processes. The system's architecture is designed to easily adjust to organisational and project changes as they happen.
Wageningen UR is an international university and research institution, with 6 500 employees and 10 000 students combining more than 100 different nationalities. It specialises in research projects that focus on the importance of establishing healthy eating and living environments, and acts as an advisor to government and commercial businesses. The university had a requirement to better manage its resources, including administration of its employees, projects and funding requests. In order to do that successfully, it was important to find a system that could consolidate data held in multiple systems.
UNIT4 Agresso was selected on the basis of its ability to manage comprehensive data collection and project administration from within a single system. In addition to its comprehensive reporting capabilities, the university team was also impressed by the ease with which changes could be made to Agresso after implementation. Such flexibility will ensure the team can make system changes themselves as required, quickly, cost-effectively and with minimal disruption - a vital requirement when considering how quickly funding conditions change and the fact funding varies between funders.
Peter Seinen, project manager at Wageningen UR, said: "We have complex project administration requirements and believe that the intrinsic flexibility of UNIT4 Agresso gives us the opportunity to ensure our systems and processes are automated and that we can work more efficiently in the future."
UNIT4 provides software solutions to more than 400 education and research institutions around the world.
