Vodacom Big Bonus: One prepaid voucher for a year`s airtime

Vodacom, South Africa`s leading cellular network, today introduced the Big Bonus Voucher to over 20 million customers in South Africa. Customers can now purchase a once-off voucher which offers them continuous access to the Vodacom network for 12 months with total control over their spending and at reduced per second rates, billed from the first second.

"Vodacom continues to listen to and respond to the needs of our customers for cost-effective services and lower rates. With a once-off payment, customers get contract-like rates with savings of up to 33%, without the complication of credit vetting and contractual obligation," says Shameel Joosub, Vodacom South Africa`s Managing Director.

Customers will pay R899 for the prepaid Big Bonus Voucher and get guaranteed airtime of R75 automatically credited to their account every 30 days for 12 months. With the voucher, customers will have access to prepaid calls at contract rates, giving them more talk for their money.

"The Big Bonus Voucher offers control and convenience to all users who are constantly topping-up their airtime. Customers can also buy the Big Bonus Voucher as a gift for a family member or friend, ensuring that they have guaranteed airtime credit to stay connected to them," Joosub says. "Once the R75 airtime credit is depleted, users can recharge airtime with conventional prepaid recharge vouchers and still enjoy the benefits of contract call rates," he concludes.

Current Vodacom prepaid customers can simply recharge with Big Bonus Vouchers and all their calls will be charged at contract rates.

Big Bonus customers will be viewed as Vodacom Prepaid customers and will therefore be eligible for promotions run by Vodacom from time to time.

As such, Big Bonus Voucher customers are eligible to participate in Vodacom`s prepaid loyalty programme `Vodacom Talking Points`, and will receive 90 Talking Points upon redemption of the Big Bonus Voucher.

Big Bonus Voucher customers can use the MyPhone USSD service by simply dialling *111# free from their handset to determine when their next automatic recharge is going to take place, or when their Big Bonus Voucher expires.

The Big Bonus Voucher can be purchased by customers in both physical and electronic format.

Upon redemption of the voucher, the customer receives lower than per second tariffs for the next 12 months, as well as a 12-month airtime window.

At the end of the Big Bonus Voucher period, customers will default to the 4U tariff.
