Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) announced that Unicentre earned an Editors` Choice award from Linux Magazine as the best "heavyweight" network management software. The award, the product`s third in seven months, underscores the global acceptance of Unicentre as the leading management solution for Linux.
"When you consider the time and money it allows a company to save, Unicentre is a must-have for those who are charged with managing the largest and most daunting of networks," says the Linux Magazine`s editors.
Specifically designed for heterogeneous enterprises in which the Linux operating system is playing an increasingly important role, Unicentre enables Linux administrators to efficiently perform enterprise-wide e-business system management from a central location. Unicentre optimises Linux-based Web operations through additional solutions encompassing service level management, Web server management, and performance management. CA offers more than 30 solutions for the Linux platform.
"If you`ve ever attempted to monitor and manage all of your company`s network servers, routers, and other devices separately, you know what a harrowing task it can be," adds the magazine`s editors. "CA`s Unicentre turns Linux into a virtual wizard`s console, with its ability to enable one sysadmin to communicate with and monitor a wide range of devices from a single desktop."
Linux Magazine`s Editors` Choice Awards are based upon price, performance, usability, stability and features of products that are evaluated. Unicentre was selected over HP`s Openview.
In July, Unicentre earned an Editors` Choice award from CNET Linux Magazine as the best-of-breed in its category. In February, Unicentre was named the "Best System Integration Solution" at The LinuxWorld Conference and Expo.
