A new version of Typing Instructor for Kids, the number one best-selling typing software for kids, designed by Individual Software, to teach young children to touch-type, has been released in South Africa by Phoenix Software.
Version 4.0 offers more Typer Island Adventures, new multi-level games, 10 customised typing plans for children ages six to 12, and bilingual learning in English and Spanish.
Typer Island's new adventure, The Lost City, is an underwater city with the ruins, a shipwreck, a museum, and a science lab! The Lost City adds more adventure, typing lessons, and two challenging, multi-level games to Typer Island.
Ziggy's Pyramid is an exciting arcade-style game with four levels of play. Kids type the words (on each pillar of the pyramid to turn the top a new colour), while avoiding dangerous adversaries. Treasure Quest is the first interactive fiction typing game. Kids go on a search all over the Lost City to find the crown jewels.
Typing Instructor for Kids is available as a desktop version for kids and families at home and as a network version for teachers and classrooms at school. The Administrative Console has all the tools teachers need to enrol students, track performance by student or class, and evaluate student performance.
"This educational, entertaining, and motivating typing program is specifically designed to teach young children how to touch-type," comments Jason Phillips, Sales director, Phoenix Software. “Ten customised plans allow children from ages six to 12, at different skill levels, to successfully conquer Typer Island, capture the castle, and explore the Lost City. Along the way, challenging typing lessons, exercises, and games teach kids important typing skills, including speed and accuracy, rhythm, dexterity, and retention."
