Turk Telecom, ITU sign pact

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Turk Telecom group, at the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2010 in Hyderabad, according to Sify Finance.

Under the agreement, Turk Telecom will become an ITU centre of excellence and partner in the delivery of ICT training opportunities across Africa, West Asia, and the CIS regions.

"Turk Telecom already has a training academy - Turk Telekom Akademi - through which we will now start educating people on telecom regulations and next-generation telecom technologies," says Ugur Ilter, technical training and development manager of Turk Telekom Akademi.
