Tunleys Mail and Print CEO Jeff van der Watt credits SilverlineLAB for the “huge success” of the relaunch of the printing house to customers, following the acquisition of a Xerox iGen 3 print machine from Bytes Document Solutions.
Within less than a week of the event, Tunleys Mail and Print had significant interest from its customers wanting to use the digital press to produce their printing jobs.
“The feedback, responses and inquiries from our clients and prospects were phenomenal. The new business we've received from this campaign and relaunch is very exciting. And we're looking forward to the new business still to come from our prospective clients, as well as the projects our current clients have enquired about,” Van der Watt says.
SilverlineLAB is the hosted services division of the Production Systems Group at Bytes Document Solutions, the distributor of Xerox to 26 African countries, and part of the Bytes Technology Group, which is wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron Group.
SilverlineLAB is a fulfilment partner to the advertising, communications, commercial print and marketing communities of South Africa. It leverages the experience built by Bytes Document Solutions over more than four decades in the printing environment and its knowledge of what customers require to differentiate themselves in a competitive and highly commoditised market.
Specialising in the rapid deployment of rich personalised communication, brand collateral management and cross-media marketing services, the cloud-based service has been developed to provide applications at a monthly or pay-per-usage cost.
“Printers often want to focus on their core capabilities and need a partner who enhances these capabilities. Technology is not the only solution for creating new applications; you also need the services of an expert team that can ensure successful utilisation of the technology,” says Edward Bothma, divisional manager of SilverlineLAB.
There are three arms to the Tunleys business: large volume printing for financial institutions and businesses; a fully automated mailroom; and an electronic communications division that handles communications via e-mail or SMS on behalf of clients, using software developed by SilverlineLAB.
To show, rather than tell, Tunleys' customers about the effectiveness of the software in combination with the iGen3, and simultaneously assist Tunleys with its relaunch, SilverlineLAB was involved with the marketing campaign from start to finish. This included data handling, document design and layout on invitation e-mails, printed invites, one-step RSVP mailers, reminder e-mails, SMSes, personalised calendars for guests on the day of the event, 'thank you' e-mails to the attendees, as well as 'we missed you' e-mails to the people who were not able to attend.
“We're very proud to have worked with SilverlineLAB and their very professional and proactive team. No job was too big or too small for the team. Going the extra mile is second nature, and sometimes the team worked way into the early morning hours to meet deadlines,” Van der Watt says.
