The rapid evolution of technology has meant that the role of the CIO in the Middle East, India and Africa (MEAI) has changed significantly. This paper looks at just how much it has changed and how it has impacted the way that business is done, especially for those in the manufacturing industry. It looks at change from the perspective of the CIO and senior leaders around him.
In particular, we see how the CIO works to carry the business forward as it rides the wave of technological advancement, directly impacting profitability and strategic planning. The survey proves that the CIO is now in a position of influence that was previously reserved for senior management.
The basis of this white paper is the findings from a recent survey conducted among 135 CIOs, CEOs, MDs, and senior managers across Middle East, Africa, and India. The survey looked at defining the role of the CIO or head of IT in today's manufacturing businesses from both the IT and non-IT perspective. It included questions around current challenges, trends, market conditions, and the technology shaping the future of manufacturing.
