TradeWorld launches new generation online trade tools

By TradeWorld
Johannesburg, 29 Oct 2003

TradeWorld, Africa`s foremost trading hub, has launched a fresh new-look Web site. The local and international components have been separated to facilitate ease of use for its growing local and global subscriber base.

The company, a member of the Johnnic Communications Group, Africa`s largest media and entertainment organisation, provides BEE procurement solutions and business opportunities across all industry sectors with over 2 000 categories currently listed on its system.

The local component of the TradeWorld Web site, "SA Trade", has an updated look and feel that is more appealing and user-friendly. New tools on the local site include "Business Basics", an element that provides users with useful hints and training guides for real business practice, as well as an additional "Lifestyle" news component. Leads and tenders, procurement solutions information as well as procurement policies and procedures are also an important part of the new-look local site.

The international component has been developed in conjunction with TradeWorld`s sister company Business Day`s new monthly supplement - SA Exporter. The International site has been upgraded to include a Bulletin Board providing free posting and viewing of trade leads, and viewing of current and past issues of SA Exporter.

Products on the international site include TMC Lite, Nextlinx, WorldBid and exporting guides. These products have been specifically developed to assist the South African exporter with the necessary expertise and tools to trade in the international arena.

This news follows hot on the heals of TradeWorld having reached yet another milestone by delivering more than 60 million enquiries to customers, less than a year after topping its 40 million mark, signifying an increase in the up-take among South African companies using online procurement methods.

"In an ever-changing competitive business environment, managing core resources properly allows companies to function more efficiently and at a greater profit," comments Francois Naud'e, Chief Executive Officer of TradeWorld. "We have maintained our competitive position in the procurement market by recognising the need to keep up with technology advancements to ensure that TradeWorld continues to offer the best products available.

"External focus groups have confirmed that the new offering is user-friendly and will be well received," he explains.

The updated Web site went live on Monday, 27 October. To experience the changes to the TradeWorld Web site, go to: www.tradeworld.net. TradeWorld - Changing the way the world trades forever.
