Top ICT tenders: College computing

Government posts an interesting collection of requirements this week, with the hardware and research and analysis sectors getting a rare chance at attractive tenders.

The hardware sector comes first with bulk computing advertisements from Ekurhuleni West TVET College and Eastern Cape CET College for 250 all-in-one computers and 272 laptops with 30GB all network data, respectively.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) follows with a request for assistance with peer review for the State of the ICT Sector Report. This project will assist ICASA in its aims to be the “authoritative source of ICT sector statistics and data to consumers, government, industry and all other stakeholders”, it says.

The Mining Qualifications Authority is also looking for a service provider to undertake a research study to investigate the nature and extent of 4IR innovation and related impact on occupational profiling in the MMS. It adds that it has adopted a strategic approach that seeks to put research at the centre of planning and inform decision-making.

Other tenders that make this week’s top 10 include:

• Three tenders in one from City Power for digital literacy, web development and an internal audit tool.
• The implementation of an audit management software solution and support services for the South African National Roads Agency.
• Pikitup is looking for development and implementation of an integrated management system enabling ISO certification in the areas of quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety systems.
• The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development is looking for a service provider to do network maintenance at its offices across South Africa. This tender will operate on a time and material basis for a period of one year.
• A service provider is sought to perform a cyber security risk assessment and to develop an IT security strategy for the National Development Agency within a period of three months.
• Finally, the State Information Technology Agency is looking for information on potential digital evidence management solutions for the South African Police Service.
