TIBCO prioritises cloud with integration solutions debut

TIBCO Software has introduced two integration solutions that aim to give organisations the ability to leverage the cloud and manage enterprise applications.

TIBCO cloud Integration solution is designed to offer mid-market businesses integration functionality via the cloud, says TIBCO.

In cases where departments are seeking to rapidly create and deploy application program interface (API), developers can build and test these services without having to involve IT staff, it adds.

The BusinessWorks Container solution provides workload control flexibility, allowing the organisation to provision information in a setting of their choosing, from on-premises to hybrid cloud.

Matt Quinn, CTO at TIBCO, believes integration is a critical capability of a digital business - it means being able to connect and engage on multiple channels.

The go-to-market strategy for the solutions will centre on "customer first", says Raj Verma, executive vice president, worldwide infrastructure sales at TIBCO.

This will be accomplished through a combination of a direct field force and some very strategic alliances and partnerships in SA and the African continent, to enhance reach and capability around the company's product set, he notes.

"Our focus has always been and will remain driving customer success. User experience management is one of the key objectives our clients are trying to accomplish."

SA organisations are on par with other organisations technologically and they often use a combination of cloud and on premises technologies - which is the right approach, says Verma.

However, there are believe still a few regulatory restrictions, especially in the financial industry, which need to be overcome for cloud-based technology solutions to be fully utilised, he adds.

According to Verma, more has changed in the last three to five years than in the previous 20-22 years and the biggest challenge facing customers is keeping up with this pace of change.

He believes the businesses that will thrive in the next decade will be the companies that view themselves as "software companies foremost", over just being a bank, telecommunications, or a retail company.

Building a unique, sustainable, agile platform to ensure an ongoing competitive advantage is the seminal challenge of our time, says Verma.
