Terremark's Enterprise Cloud powers USA.gov

Global provider of IT infrastructure services Terremark Worldwide's Enterprise Cloud platform has been selected by the US General Services Administration (GSA) to power USA.gov, the federal government's official Web portal, states msnbc.

USA.gov, which is managed by the GSA's office of citizen services and communications, is an easy-to-search, free-access Web site designed to give visitors a centralised place to find information from US local, state, and federal government agency Web sites.

The GSA will leverage the Enterprise Cloud's reliability and agility to dynamically provision highly available cloud computing resources to handle any spikes in online traffic.

DoDAF architecture suite released

Mega, provider of enterprise architecture and business process analysis solutions, has introduced the Mega suite for the Department of Defence Architecture Framework (DoDAF), reports BusinessWire.

It is a new solution based on the Mega modelling suite to specifically support the DoDAF.

The DoDAF, which originated with the US Department of Defense (DoD) and is a requirement for DoD agencies and contractors to use in developing architectures, has become an international standard for the world's largest defence, aerospace, and security organisations.

Mega EA association established

The Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects (AOGEA) has merged with the Global Enterprise Architecture Organisation (GEAO) to form what it calls “the largest professional body for enterprise architects in the world,” according to ZDNet.

The AOGEA and GEAO, which will retain their respective names for the indefinite future, will be administered by The Open Group.

According to a press release, the merged organisation “will focus on advancing the enterprise architecture profession by helping to develop and enforce standards of excellence and ethics for all members”.
