Digital and lithographic printing company, Templer Industries announced that it has strengthened its digital printing offering when it became the first company in South Africa to purchase and install the Xerox 770 Digital Colour Press, which was launched at the recent Africa Print Expo.
According to Templer Industries co-owner Michael Templer, the impact on the business has already been remarkable: "We have always been strong on the lithographic printing side, but about two years ago, we reached a point where we needed to decide whether we would focus solely on litho or invest in a strong hybrid offering for digital and litho. We consulted with Bytes Document Solutions, with whom we have had a partnership for the past seven years, and came to the conclusion that, for us, the best option would be a strong digital and litho offering.
"The Xerox 770's capabilities are amazing and it is monstrously powerful. Just the fact that I can confidently say 'just give me the work' to any digital print customer has made it a worthwhile investment."
Says Paul Haglich, Bytes Document Solutions PSG Marketing and Product Manager: "Launching the Xerox 770 at the Africa Print Expo was one of this year's highlights for us. Internationally, it has become one of our most popular products and we are expecting a similar uptake from our local market.
"The Xerox 770 can help print providers increase monthly print volume by expanding into applications such as photo books, direct-mail pieces, marketing materials and calendars. A key feature is the Automated Colour Quality Suite, a set of tools that handle colour management tasks with minimal operator involvement, allowing for more high-value, profitable applications to move quickly through the shop. The press also prints on a range of stocks, including heavyweight, at the rated speed of 70 pages per minute, a significant competitive advantage."
