IT services and solutions provider, Datacentrix is assisting the Teljoy Group in the roll-out of an HP solution for the company's data centre.
"One of the objectives of the project was to refresh some key components within our data centre - a terminal server, backup server, SQL server and MSA - at our Johannesburg-based head office, while ensuring that our levels of service would be unaffected," explains Gregory Pooke, Manager, Information Technology, Teljoy.
"We selected HP technology based on our rolling attrition and procurement plan to refresh data centre hardware every three to four years prescribed by business requirements."
At this stage, the hardware is fully operational and will be phased into production later this year pending data migration testing processes. "Once up-and-running, we expect to see a range of benefits including more stable server platforms and faster information systems," Pooke adds.
Teljoy selected Datacentrix as its technology partner for this project based on the company's quality pre-sales service, competitive pricing and professional service delivery.
According to Zea Silva, Datacentrix account manager, Datacentrix is the largest and only value partner and a preferred partner with a direct contract with HP across its entire range of hardware products. "This direct relationship with HP enables us to offer solutions to local businesses like Teljoy at the most reasonable price.
"Furthermore, our high level of partner accreditation with HP means that we remain at the forefront of the latest IT innovations and offer the highest level of technical support and engineering expertise," she explains.
