TechnologyOne triples HR, payroll
Listed-Australian IT group, TechnologyOne has had a more than a three-fold increase in revenue, new customers and employees for its human resource and payroll product since releasing reconfigured software three years ago, says ITWire.
According to TechnologyOne's general manager human resources and payroll, Iain Rouse, the company is expecting even more demand for the software as Australia and the rest of the world emerge from the GFC and enters a “renewed skills shortage.”
“During the GFC, we saw an increase in demand for e-services to cut administrative workload, such as those enabling employees to manage their own leave balance and timesheets,” Rouse says.
Councils to pool HR software use
A partnership deal that will see Nottingham City Council and Leicestershire County Council pool together functions, including those using HR software, has been agreed, writes Sage.
It is hoped more than £2 million per year will be saved by the joining administrative functions, which will also include payroll and finance services. The East Midlands Shared Services centre is believed to be the first deal of its kind between a county council and a city council from another area.
Leicestershire County Council leader David Parsons says: "In these challenging times, our innovative agreement shows how authorities can achieve real savings by working together."

Lawson Human Resource Management helps streamline core human resources functions, such as employee and manager self-service and payroll. Lawson Professional Services will manage the implementation.
The contract was signed during the first quarter of Lawson's 2011 fiscal year, which ended 31 August.
