Symantec has been recognised as a leader in the Forrester Wave Unstructured Data Security for Q2; an independent validation by global analyst firm Forrester that acknowledges the company’s continuous efforts to protect data everywhere.
The recognition follows a rigorous evaluation process which included 26 benchmarks such as technology, scale, strategy and future direction, and was based on customer feedback. “As an official distributor of Symantec, the Forrester Wave recognition underscores the company’s commitment to its channel partners and customers,” comments Fred Mitchell, division manager: software solutions at DCC.
“There is no doubt that Symantec offers an entrenched and strategic value offering in the unstructured data security segment – this recognition provides an official and unbiased stamp of approval.”
Symantec understands the complexities involved in finding data in different formats, under different regulatory rules and help in multiple locations. “The company’s strength lies in its ability to accurately discover sensitive data across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments without being constrained to a particular operating environment or cloud platform,” he adds.
The company’s independence, coupled with a single policy framework, provides customers an operationally effective way to protect data, which is crucial when information is being accessed by remote, unmanaged devices.
Symantec has during the last year made significant enhancements to its solution offerings with the release of Symantec Data Loss Protection (DLP) 15.8, Mirror Gateway CloudSOC. This also included simplifying its integration into DLP and DLP cloud bundles.
