Swedish Medical uses Oracle

Swedish Medical Center, the largest non-profit healthcare provider in the Greater Seattle area, deployed components of the Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite, says The Sun Herald.

Oracle enterprise content management software also facilitated Swedish Medical Centre's EMR training initiative, helping the organisation ensure an on-time roll-out.

Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite is a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware.

Oracle does roadshow

Windows IT Pro will take the "Enterprise 2.0 with Oracle" content management roadshow across Western Europe over the next couple of months, reports Windows IT Pro.

Bhavesh Vagela, Oracle's EMEA enterprise content management director, says: "Today, 80% of data is unstructured and some analysts estimate that figure could grow to over 100% a year, while structured information is only growing at 4%."

Following their "Enterprise 2.0" theme, the Windows IT Pro/Oracle roadshows will focus on how businesses are exploiting Web 2.0 phenomena such as blogs, wikis and RSS. "Listening to our customers, these technologies are growing in importance," says Vagela.

PTC sells technology

Lockheed Martin's Electronic Systems has selected Parametric Technology's (PTC's) Windchill product life cycle management solution to replace multiple product data management systems, says Boston.com.

Parametric of Needham, which refers to itself as PTC, provides product life cycle management, content management, and dynamic publishing solutions to more than 50 000 organisations worldwide, including aerospace and defence companies.

According to PTC, Windchill will allow Electronic Systems to move toward a consolidated technology platform for managing all critical product information.
