Square One installs power supply backup solution for data centre in Mozambique

The power division of the Square One Solutions Group, a JSE-listed ICT company, has designed, installed and commissioned an uninterruptible power supply solution in support of a critical data centre for an insurance company in Maputo, Mozambique.

The UPS solution was developed for EXI, an IT systems supplier in Maputo which required power backup for the data centre of its customer, insurance company Empresa Mocambicano de Seguros (Emose).

Square One power division account manager Nelson Torres said the data centre is mission-critical for Emose and a high availability solution was therefore required.

"We recommended an APC Symmetra PX 30kW system which gives N+1 redundancy for maximum uptime and near-continuous availability. As a modular system with rack-based technology, it is also easy to scale, service, manage and upgrade with new technology."

The Emose data centre has become a Mozambique reference site for the power division of Square One in the application of UPS solutions involving high-availability APC Symmetra PX equipment. The power division of Square One is an accredited APC Gold Hi-Power Partner and also has APC's Global Services (AGS) accreditation.
