Spescom announces deal with City of Umhlathuze Municipality

Johannesburg, 08 Jun 2005

Spescom DataFusion, the contact centre operation of multinational technology innovator Spescom, has announced a deal with the City of Umhlathuze Municipality, Fire & Rescue Services, to supply a proprietary recording solution.

According to senior executive, Interactive Solutions, Paul Fick, the DataVoice Libra Recording solution will allow the emergency service operation to record, store, and archive phone calls from the public and radio transmissions between emergency services.

"The solution is a cost-effective fail-safe capturing device that can be utilised for legal purposes, quality assurance and training," says Fick.

"Reliable recording is crucial in this sector. The easy access of stored calls and transmissions is crucial in scenario reconstruction. Operators or supervisors are also capable of using information from the recordings to resolve complaints should they arise, and ensure the correct procedures are followed during an incident."
