Spartan assists Nelson Mandela Foundation in going global

In concluding a technology rental deal with the Nelson Mandela Foundation (NMF), Spartan Technology Rentals has assisted the former in its goal of becoming a global player.

In addition, Spartan has waived technology rental charges to the value of R103 000 on the three-year deal.

Tim Scholtz, financial director of the NMF, says its contract with Spartan, which incorporates cutting-edge laptop equipment, enables the foundation to become "more mobile".

"In our quest to become a global player, Spartan's noble gesture is helping us set up the infrastructure we need to accomplish this," said Scholtz.

He added that while the NMF benefited significantly from donations from corporate giants in SA, acts of corporate social responsibility from medium-sized companies such as Spartan were "extremely heartening".

Kumaran Padayachee, CEO of Spartan Technology Rentals, stated that his company was proud to make a "small but important contribution" to the work of the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

"The foundation is involved in sterling initiatives aimed at improving and uplifting all echelons of South African society. Making state-of-the-art IT equipment available to the NMF - either at cost or minus certain value-added charges - reflects our support for the foundation's work," said Padayachee.

He added that Spartan was keen on further co-operation with the foundation.
