Fusion Outsourcing Services (Fusion SA) has been named as South Africa's best offshore BPO contact centre for the second consecutive year. The group received the accolade at the national BPO awards held in the Eastern Cape last weekend.
“We were thrilled to once again be named the best offshore BPO contact centre in the country,” said Johann Kunz, managing director of Fusion SA. “South Africa's BPO sector has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, so to have kept the title again against such strong competition is a real honour.
“We also realise the importance of winning this particular award as offshore BPO has been cited by the government as a huge contributor to job creation in the country, particularly in the current economic environment,” said Kunz.
The African Stars-themed BPO awards ceremony, which was held at the Feather Market Conference Centre, in Port Elizabeth, on Saturday (21 November 2009), was a celebration of the best of South Africa's contact centre industry. All contenders had previously won regional heats in their province.
Adding to the award for best offshore contact centre, Fusion SA also came away with the title of best offshore customer service centre and best HR service provider, both of which were also won for the second year running.
Kunz said he was pleased that the judges recognised Fusion SA's excellent customer service skills, as the quality of its staff is a key factor in the company's service offering. “A BPO company is only as good as its employees, so the fact that we won the title of best offshore customer service centre again was very pleasing. The award reflects the hard work and efforts of our staff, who truly are the backbone of our business.”
He says South Africa has long been recognised as a high-quality destination for its BPO services, due to its well-educated workforce and excellent language skills. “Being named as the top customer service centre in a country that is already well known for the quality of its service demonstrates the excellent abilities of our staff.”
Following the national awards, Fusion SA will now proceed to represent South Africa internationally in its winning categories at the EMEA awards to be held next year.
“Winning these awards has capped an excellent year for Fusion SA and we are looking forward to representing South Africa abroad and hopefully bring back a trophy for South Africa's BPO industry,” said Kunz.
