Softstart BTI, the Midrand-based ICT business and technology incubator that stimulates, grows and launches early-stage, technology-rich businesses, has contracted SAP Business One ERP business software and technology specialist 4most to supply, implement and support a SAP Business One financial and ERP software solution.
The SAP Business One solution will place emphasis on CRM and enterprise development interactions, sales opportunities, workflow approval procedures and alerts, together with full financial functionality.
As a non-profit organisation (NPO), Softstart BTI will use SAP Business One and its CRM program to effectively work with the entrepreneurs and its business partners. The ERP functionality will help Softstart BTI incubatees to focus on their businesses and take advantage of the facilities and services that they have access to, providing the base from which the businesses will realise their full potential.
Softstart BTI improves enterprise performance, enhances profitability and growth, and offers technology and management support to South African ICT SMEs, and is geared to help early movers maximise the value of their ideas. To build an optimal, sustainable business, an entire multitude of building blocks will have to be assembled over time.
Softstart BTI assists in doing so through the incubation services which it provides to entrepreneurs. This is a crucial function, since SMEs are central to driving growth in Africa and are the backbone of employment-creating initiatives - a study by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reveals that SMEs contribute more than 42% of South Africa's GDP and that they are vital to the success of the economy.
“The solution, which is expected to go live within a couple of months, is based upon real-time, full integration that offers full ERP functionality and a 360-degree view into the Softstart BTI operations in real-time,” says Alex Viviers, Sales Director at 4most.
