Soarsoft Africa, a specialist in archive, migration, collaboration and messaging services, has recently concluded an agreement with Binary Tree to distribute its products into the South African and African region.
Binary Tree is a provider of software for migrating enterprise messaging users and applications to on-premises and cloud-based versions of Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint.
Says George Amoils, director at Soarsoft Africa: "Soarsoft Africa focuses on the niche space of migrations to Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint, and has a wealth of skills and expertise in this sector. The Binary Tree offering will strengthen our toolbox, providing a software suite that significantly simplifies migrations, especially as more organisations move to a hosted environment in the cloud.”
Says Fabrice Barbier, Partner Alliances Manager at Binary Tree: "Soarsoft Africa's significant experience in this sector, along with their proven track record, which includes projects with Webber Wentzel, Sony Pictures and Toyota Tsusho Africa, to mention a few, made our choice a simple one. Soarsoft is the ideal partner to assist us to establish a footprint for Binary Tree's offerings in the African market."
Binary Tree's solutions enable companies to migrate from IBM's Lotus Notes and Domino to Microsoft's Exchange platform with ease. Most notably, its software assists customers to migrate to not only the latest in-house suites of Microsoft Exchange, but also to Exchange hosted in the cloud.
"Binary Tree is Microsoft's preferred vendor for migrating to Exchange Online, and is positioned well to assist companies in the South African market when Microsoft Office 365 becomes available later this year," notes Barbier
Launching to the cloud
"The local market is gearing to make use of more hosted offerings, and Binary Tree is the ideal tool for migration to the cloud. We expect an uptake in this trend in South Africa, especially with the imminent launch of Microsoft 365, which will provide companies with not only the ability to host Microsoft Office in the cloud, but also Microsoft SharePoint and Lync, delivering collaboration and unified communications into the mix," notes Amoils.
The Binary Tree Suite includes solutions that enable the entire process of migrating to a new platform, including: analysis, which incorporates planning and preparation; co-existence, which allows the two platforms to synchronise; and migration, completing the move from one platform to another.
"Binary Tree's 'co-exist' functionality is invaluable," says Amoils, "as it will allow customers to run their old and new platforms concurrently, continuously synchronising while migrating to the new Microsoft Exchange platform. This alleviates much of the pressure this process generates, as it means no downtime is necessary. We are confident in our use of this solution as Binary Tree's tools have been used for many large migrations with success, thanks to the proven methodologies incorporated into the suite.”
Soarsoft Africa and Binary Tree will be showcasing their offering at Tech-Ed Africa and the Microsoft Partner Summit 2011, held concurrently from 17 to 20 October 2011, and hosted in Durban at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre.
