NutriLida Healthcare and Pilot Crushtec have been named joint winners of the 2008 Go4Growth competition.
The winners will receive a sponsored listing on the JSE AltX exchange and will debut on the stock exchange next year after going through mentoring and a readiness assessment process.
The Go4Growth competition is sponsored by SAP, the JSE, Vunani and Hasso Platner Ventures, and is designed to drive the growth of well-performing SMEs. The winners were selected from a pool of 320 finalists and a shortlist of 10 finalists, and were awarded for their commitment to growth and potential ability to benefit from the listing.
“We are privileged to be recognised in the entrepreneurial playing field,” said NutriLida MD Hilda Lunderstedt. “This prize will give us access to resources and consultants we might have never had.”
NutriLida is a supplier of over-the-counter nutritional and healthcare products.
Sandro Scherf, CEO of Pilot Crushtec, comments: “It's a nice accolade and we're thrilled to win. Being listed on the JSE was part of our growth strategy. We're very excited about the process ahead and now we need to plan our strategy and path forward.”
Pilot Crushtec is a supplier of mobile crushing, screening and materials handling solutions, within the mining sector.
Derek Kudsee, SAP SME director for Africa, noted: “We are honoured to be able to partner with companies that are displaying exceptional acceleration in their growth trajectories. These companies will hopefully benefit from the competition in terms of value and growth.”
Other winners include LPM Reinforcing, ElectroSense and Forge Business Online, which were awarded SAP's Business One software, while Renasa Insurance won SAP's Business All in One software suite. Bloudhound Technologies and Fraxion were named as the two potential venture capital funding winners, while Umlimi Holdings received the R1 million corporate finance advisory service prize.
