IT distributor, Comztek, is looking to leverage the rapid growth of the SME market in Africa through the Fujitsu Siemens Computers brand.
"Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers a range of servers, desktops, notebooks and accessories, forming part of the tier one product offering Comztek is aiming squarely at the SME resellers and end-users," explains Kobus Kitshoff, product manager for Comztek Consumer Electronics division.
Kitshoff maintains that Fujitsu Siemens Computers products will be complemented by Cisco products to provide a complete end-to-end solution for businesses throughout the SADC, managed through Comztek`s branches in Namibia and Zambia. He believes this combination will provide the best foundation for resellers developing computing and networking solutions for their customers.
Kitshoff says Comztek`s approach offers the best value for the region`s SME markets. "Instead of trying to market competing brands we are able to concentrate on a single top-rated PC marque in combination with leading networking hardware and system software. At the same time we are able to support the brand through our existing branches in the region. This enables us to work more closely with our resellers in helping them to deploy localised solutions and support while providing Comztek with scope to further develop its presence in the region.
"The potential for growth in southern Africa`s IT market is enormous with much of it driven by the SMEs. I believe that a tightly focused offering backed by Comztek`s local presence provides the best recipe for taking advantage of that potential," concludes Kitshoff.
