SmartLife to grow business with Exergy

SilverBridge has implemented its Exergy insurance administration software at SmartLife, part of the Net1 technology group, to allow the provider to offer life insurance as part of its business offering.

Net1 acquired SmartLife, formerly known as Saambou Life Assurers, in July last year to provide it with an opportunity to offer relevant insurance products directly to its customer and employee base. These products will cover the full spectrum of insurance solutions, including credit life, group life, funeral and education insurance policies.

“With SmartLife able to leverage off the existing relationships between Net1 and its corporate clients, it is using group insurance schemes as a starting position for the business. However, the flexibility provided by Exergy allows SmartLife to evolve their system to incorporate a broader range of products as the need arises,” says Lee Kuyper, Commercial Executive at SilverBridge.

As Exergy is a template-driven solution, the turnaround time for implementation at SmartLife was very quick. Its pre-configured components allowed the life insurer to get a working administration system up-and-running in a short space of time.

“We were able to use the base configuration and set-up of Exergy to get a head start on going to market. The solution is also able to evolve with our product, business and technology,” says Chris van der Walt, CEO at SmartLife.

Additionally, SilverBridge provides its customers with the training required to customise Exergy according to their specific requirements. For SilverBridge, it is not just about providing a solution, but a complete service that is focused on empowering its customers.

“We want to ensure that our customers can see a measurable impact on their profitability by using Exergy. Putting them in a position to efficiently administer their policies while still being able to evolve the solution with relatively little reliance on services from SilverBridge enables them to do this,” concluded Kuyper.
